Rest is both a gift and a requirement. It is something that we too easily tend to push aside. But life without rest is not sustainable. Rest refreshes our bodies, giving us the energy we need to do anything really.
In fact, it is so important that it is mentioned in the first book of the Bible. On the seventh day, God rested. He used that time to reflect on his creation.
There are so many uses and benefits of rest. Your mood, health, connections, productivity, creativity and pretty much everything else will improve with proper rest.
A lot of times we think being busy means we are doing something important but that isn’t always the case. In fact, we do have control over that busyness and making time to rest. In fact, I fall under this camp the most often! It is so easy for us to think being busy is normal.
Remember, hard work and being busy aren’t the same. Although, they can sometimes overlap.
Think back from this week. Have you been able to slow down at all to reflect? To connect? Or have you been too busy to even get some sleep?
We will go further into rest over the next few weeks to uncover more and the importance of it!
